The Unbreakable Bond of Hunger and Focus

Lets talk about success. Sometimes it feels like people dont just earn it, they are given it, handed to them on a platter? It may sound so familier, but in reality that may not be the real success, it may just be like a line drawn on the ocean, vanishing as soon as we start drawing. I am here to talk about real success, the one which you earn it, let's cut through the clutter and dive into the heart of success – where hunger meets unwavering focus and dogged persistence. This isn't about fancy words or complicated formulas; it's about embracing these three fundamental forces and weaving them into our journey.

Andrew Carnegie, ever heard of him? The US lawmakers turned over every rock, hoping to unveil his secrets. But Carnegie just smiled and said, "I can focus on a single thing for 5 minutes." Now that might sound like small change, but it's a pocket-sized gem of wisdom that could light up your path.
Now, let's rewind to the mountain-mover. Imagine this: a man faced with a mountain that had cost him his wife. With no fancy degrees or motivational hype, he embarked on a mission that spanned over 30 years. His driving force? A hunger to overcome. His weapon? A persistent hammering away, bit by bit, defying all odds.
Meet Les Brown, a straight shooter who once said, "You have to be hungry." Not hungry for food, my friend – hungry for victory, for growth, for proving that your dreams are no illusion.

And then there's Tony Robbins, not a magician but a master of motivation. He started with a hunger – a hunger to escape the ordinary, to ignite others, and to chase dreams without apology.

The essence here is no cosmic hocus-pocus; it's a law that rewards those who don't just settle but keep pushing. The recipe? Hunger, focus, and relentless determination.

Imagine yourself at life's crossroads. Your hunger, like a compass, guides you toward uncharted territories.

Your focus, a spotlight that pierces through darkness. And your persistence, an armor that shields you through thick and thin.
Pause for the mountain man. His story isn't one of theories, but of grit. His wife's death gave birth to an unyielding hunger for change. With hammer and sweat, he chipped away at that mountain for decades, carving his name into history.

This isn't rocket science; it's you recognizing that success is in your hands. It's the universe nodding to hunger, focus, and relentless spirit. So go ahead, embrace these forces, paint your masterpiece, and let the universe cheer as you carve your path with the hunger, focus, and unbreakable will of a true master.

The Staff Engagement Paradox: Forcing the Illusion of Choice

Staff engagement, a concept praised for its ability to motivate employees and cultivate a positive work environment, can sometimes become a double-edged sword.  Initially, the intention behind organizing non-work-related activities, such as futsal competitions, was noble. These endeavours sought to provide employees with opportunities to connect and engage beyond the confines of their workspaces. The vision was to ignite motivation and foster unity. However, somewhere along the way, the true essence of these activities became distorted. The Penalties of Being Human Ironically, in their pursuit of encouraging staff engagement, companies implemented attendance marking systems and penalties for absence or tardiness. What was once voluntary and enjoyable participation has now been replaced by fear-driven coercion. Employees attend these events not out of genuine interest or enjoyment, but out of the dread of being shamed, penalized, or left out. The spirit of choice and voluntary engag...

How the "push it" culture creates real "down fall".

In the world of organizational culture, the prevalence of a "push it" mentality often serves as a glaring indicator of more profound issues. It signifies more than just a commitment to excellence; it frequently represents the single most significant indication of an isolated, blame-oriented, and ultimately toxic culture.  In environments where the "push it" mantra prevails, collaboration becomes an afterthought, and leaders, whether consciously or inadvertently, exacerbate this toxicity by embracing this phrase. In this article, I will dive into the perils of the "push it" culture, and I will try to shed some light. If you have been hearing the phrase "you have to push it" or "I expect you to push it harder", that means you are already working in a counterproductive environment.  The Toxicity of "Push It" The "push it" culture, seemingly rooted in the pursuit of results, often conceals deeper organizational maladies....

Dhivehi to English translation with Microsoft translator

The Dhivehi language translation feature included in Microsoft translator and Microsoft 365 lets you press a button and translate written Dhivehi into English. Though there are a few hiccups here and there, the service is great and provides an understanding of the overall document. This is more than what we see from any existing models. I was amazed to see a link in one of my outlook web emails, it says “translate message to: English” which could mean nothing usually, however, when I saw the next sentence which said “Never translate from: Divehi”, I thought why would it says Divehi specifically if it doesn’t understand that the entire email was written in Dhivehi? Out of curiosity, I pressed the button, and to my surprise, it was quite good. The essence of the message was retained very well. For example, something like އިޙްތިރާމް ޤަބޫލުކުރެއްވުން އެދެން could be translated as “ I would like to respect you ”, which is ok in terms of translation, but what it meant was greeti...
